He who does not love does not know God, for God is love (1 John 4:8). As GOD created us in His Image and likeness Genesis 1:26, He wants us to love one another and become one people with one heart. Since He is Love He will access our hearts and reside there.
Genesis chapter 1 and 2 tells us how GOD created everything. Chapter 3 explains how humankind fell from Love into sin. From chapter 3 and the rest of the Bible, Bible explains all the ways GOD used to bring back people in Love.
Love fulfils the Law. “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbour; therefore love is the fulfilment of the law. Romans 13:8-10”
4.1 Sin – Failing to love others.
Sin occurs when there is no Love in someone’s heart. Sin occurs when a person fails to love. It’s something that happens to a person who has lost their humanity. Sin is a human defect because humankind was created to love one another.
When reading Bible, Isaiah 14, Ezekiel 28, and Revelation 12, we see that sin started in Heaven by the Cherub who covers, his name was Lucifer the prince of Tyre. Through his wisdom and knowledge of hidden secrets and wisdom in trading, he gathered riches from Gold and silver; then, this lifted up his heart to the point he felt like he was like the Most High GOD. He failed to submit since he thought he was above all and wanted to be like Most High. He became self-centred and planted the same mentality in Adam and Eve to want to be like GOD, activating a self-centred spirit in their hearts. They also failed to fit in the Love cycle.
4.2 Love and tribe of Israelite
The laws given to Israelites were to establish a good relationship among people. They were commanded to obey GOD as their GOD and love one another as they would love themselves. All the time they failed to do that, GOD (Love) goes away and evil takes a place, then they face troubles.
Leviticus 19:17-18, Deuteronomy 6:5, 10:12, 30:6, Matthew 19:19, Mark 12:29-31, Luke 10:27, Romans 13:8-10, Galatians 5:14, James 2:8-9, Matthew 7:12, I Timothy 1:5.
CHRIST came to restore the original Love culture. In His first teachings, He taught people to deactivate a self-centred spirit in Matthew 5 -7, and then He taught them all required behaviour to fit in Love.
4.3 New Christ’s family
All the Laws and Commands are to bring people back in Love. They all hang on the Love Law as explained by JESUS (Matthew 22:37-40).
- For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” Galatians 5:14
- A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
The church that JESUS left on earth were living according to the Love Law. There was no partiality, no poor and needy because they shared everything equally. That is exactly what GOD wants us to live sharing everything. That’s what He wanted since the beginning, and that’s how we will live when evil is removed from us.
- Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. Acts 4:32-35
You cannot be a Christian if you are not born again, and do humanitarian deeds according to JESUS (John 3:3, Matthew 25:31-46). To be born again means to abandon rebellious behaviour and do the will of GOD, as He wants us to love one another to become one people with one heart. Without Love, we are nothing; because Love is original human content in the form of humanity.
The Bible tells us that anyone without love is nothing but a noisy brass or a hung cymbal. It doesn’t matter what title they have, whether you are a pastor, priest, apostle, even an angel because satan was also an angel, but he failed to love.
- Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not Love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not Love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not Love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; Love does not envy; Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. I Corinthians 13:1-8,13
5 Conclusion
There are many definitions of Love. Many people explain Love in the 6 Greek words for Love: Eros, Philia, Storge, Agape, Xenia, and Philautia, but Love is One and Love is from GOD. Philautia is the enemy of real Love because to Love is to give, and if you have self-love in you, you care less to others. Capitalism is self-love, as it is now leading the world in wickedness. Remember, money is the root of all evil; whoever chess it has no love in him. Whoever is the friend of the world is the enemy of GOD (James 4:4).
When we study people’s behaviours in Love, we can understand Love better.
Love exists between 2 people: A Lover and the Loved one (s).
- Lover’s responsibilities are to own the Loved one, provide, improve, comfort (protect and entertain), and teach or train their Loved ones, empowering them to love others.
- The responsibility of the Loved one is to submit to the Lover.
There are 4 Love principles: when a person is greater than others, cares for them. When a person is minor, submit to the greater one. When both are equal, they share Love responsibilities, and when a person is self-centred, he cares for no one. The world is standing here in self-centeredness today. That’s why there is too much evil in the world.
Love is applicable when I submit to my superiors, and then I also care about the minors. This is exactly what the greatest Commandment and 10 Commandments are all about.
GOD is Love and wants us to be like Him. He uses Love Spirit to unite us, but satan uses a self-centred spirit to separate us. GOD wanted us to live in Love since the beginning, but because Adam and Eve opened the door for evil, we are struggling to live in Love, but by the end of the age, GOD will remove evil, and then we will live together in Love.
It is difficult to understand Love because there is no true Love in the world. There is Philautia, self-love that creates a desire to chase worldly materials, and we can only get them from others, mostly in a way that opposes Love principles,.
You have no love but self-love when you chase the world’s materials. That’s why we have too many troubles in the world.
